Seasonal Tar Crew Laborers

Compensation: $20.03 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in tar-patching operations and various road maintenance operations from late May through mid-August as directed by the Tar Crew Supervisor and Maintenance Foreman. Position may be occasionally assigned to other seasonal job duties within the Highway Department under the direction of the engineering staff or Maintenance Foreman.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old upon starting date
  • Possess a valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license
  • Experience with pulling a two-wheel trailer
  • Experience with minor service and repair of various equipment
  • Must be able to fill out daily reports (time sheet) and keep records of work completed.
  • Must be able to perform manual labor
  • Physically lift 50 pounds
  • Hear warning devices such as back up alarms.

Position will start approximately at the end of May through mid-August. Position generally works 4-10 hr. days. Wage is $20.03/hr.
